A watermark will prevent anyone from using your images without your permission. Even if someone steals your work, the watermark will prove that you are the real artist. You can use mostly any image editor to place a watermark, but an easier way is to use a program specifically designed for this task. Star Watermark offers one of the easiest and fastest way to create and place watermarks. It lets you create and save templates, which can be used again in the future.

The software is available for both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. If you plan on using it on a Windows powered computer, any AMD or Intel processor will suffice. You will also need at least 1 Gb of free disk space and 512+ Mb of RAM. The software itself will not take up too much space on your hard drive and it can be downloaded fast due to the very small size of the setup file.

Star Watermark will process multiple images in one run, according to a template. You may create any number of templates and you will find them in a list, on the left side of the interface. The larger area, next to the templates list, is where you can load your images with drag and drop actions or by clicking the Add button on the toolbar and browsing for the files.

A template can be created instantly by clicking a small button in the lower left corner of the window. After naming the template, it will appear in the templates list and you can edit it on a separate window after double clicking its name or selecting the Edit option in the lower left corner. The editing window contains two sets of options, under different tabs, for using text or images as watermarks. While making your settings, you will be able to see the effects in real time, thanks to a preview on the same window.

When inserting text, you may select a specific font, style, and size, set a different transparency level, color and more. You can also add a shadow to the text and change its alignment, blur radius and alpha value. The text can have a 3D or gradient effect as well. Just tick one of these options and make some further adjustments if you need to. There are fewer options to find for adding an image as a watermark. You will have to select its path, select what area of the preview to place it on, set a vertical and horizontal offset, rotation and transparency level.

It is possible to add multiple watermarks when editing a template. They are placed on different layers, which you can select from a drop menu. This makes it possible to edit multiple watermarks separately. When you are satisfied with your settings, you can just close the editing window. To apply the watermarks, you will have to load your images, select a template and click the Processing option on the toolbar. In a few seconds, your images will be watermarked. The output path and format can be selected in the software's general settings panel.

Pros

The software can be used in a very comfortable manner. Its options are flexible and easy to use at the same time. Everything you need can be found immediately, thanks to the interface's clean design. Star Watermark is lightweight, so you can have it up and running on your computer in less than a minute.

Cons

A watermark's position can not be changed by clicking and dragging it over the preview. Thanks to Star Watermark's simple and smart design, you will be able to place watermarks over any number of images, fast and easy.
